How do businesses work? How are public decisions made? CEC brings Commerce and Economics together with Civics. It can lead to further study in business, law, communication and social sciences. If you like understanding people, organisations and society, there are many directions to explore.

Commerce, accounting and finance
Understand how organisations record transactions and use money.
Further study: Eligible B.Com, finance or related degrees; professional study where chosen.
Some B.Com (Hons) programmes require Accountancy or Mathematics in their entrance combination. Eligibility is not identical everywhere.
Business and entrepreneurship
Explore customers, teams, operations and commercial decisions.
Further study: Eligible BBA, B.Com, management or related degrees.
Some quantitative management programmes require Mathematics; check the actual programme.
Law and legal services
Use reading, reasoning and communication to understand rights and disputes.
Further study: Five-year integrated law study after Class 12 or a later LL.B after graduation.
CLAT is one entry route, not the only one. Institution and later professional requirements apply.
Company Secretary and corporate governance
Explore company obligations and accountable decision-making.
Further study: The ICSI professional route, alongside degree study where chosen.
CSEET is an entry stage; further professional exams and training are required.
Public policy and administration
Investigate how institutions make decisions and serve communities.
Further study: Eligible social-science/public-policy-related study and further study/exams where relevant.
Civil-service recruitment generally requires graduation and a separate selection process.
Journalism, communication and public relations
Ask questions and explain issues to people and organisations.
Further study: Journalism, mass communication, media or another suitable bachelor’s degree.
Writing, language, ethical judgement and practical work matter alongside formal study.
Social work and community development
Work with people and communities on practical social challenges.
Further study: BSW or a related eligible degree; MSW/specialist study for some roles.
Check the college’s subject requirements and how much practical fieldwork the course includes.
Hospitality, tourism and events
Explore how organisations create well-run experiences for others.
Further study: Relevant hospitality, tourism, event-management or business programmes.
These are related but different sectors; compare the actual work and training.
People and human resources
Understand how workplaces recruit, develop and support their people.
Further study: Eligible business, social-science or psychology-related study.
HR is not restricted to one Intermediate stream; roles ask for different experience and qualifications.
Psychology, education and social research
Explore how people learn, behave and take part in society.
Further study: Eligible BA/social-science/psychology study and further professional study where needed.
Check subject requirements for each degree. Clinical psychology and teaching need the relevant recognised professional training.

What should we ask on a campus visit?
Discuss the subjects, entrance coverage where applicable, teaching and assessment approach, timetable, current fees and inclusions. Bring the student’s questions as well as the parent’s.
How do we compare CEC colleges in Hyderabad?
