SAJC alumnus V Saikiran leads students through a 3D printing workshop

Sri Amogha Junior College alumnus V Saikiran, a student entrepreneur and Founder of Zorava, conducted a 3D printing workshop for the college’s students on 9 May 2026. The session brought together an introduction to the technology and an opportunity to meet an alumnus developing his own enterprise.

The workshop included a digital-design demonstration and a closer look at a 3D printer. Students encountered the relationship between an idea represented on a screen and the equipment used to turn a digital design into a physical object.

At its simplest, 3D printing builds an object from a digital model, layer by layer. Understanding that connection opens up questions about shape, dimensions, materials and the choices involved in making something. It gives mathematical and scientific ideas a practical setting in which to be considered.

Saikiran’s connection with the college gave the session an additional dimension. Students were meeting someone who had studied at SAJC and was now pursuing an entrepreneurial interest. That makes the path from learning a subject to exploring its possibilities more immediate, while leaving students room to consider interests and directions of their own.

For the college, workshops of this kind connect academic study with observation and practical exposure. Their educational value lies in bringing students close enough to a process to examine how it works and to recognise the knowledge and decisions behind it.

The session also provided a way for an alumnus to contribute to the current student community. SAJC’s wider programme includes workshops, educational visits and opportunities for students to meet people working in different fields, alongside their preparation for Intermediate examinations.
