Two days of learning take SAJC students from a library to industry and public institutions
Event: 9 September 2026Published:

Students of Sri Amogha Junior College took part in two days of educational visits on 9 and 10 September 2026, moving between independent reading, industrial workplaces and a public institution. The programme involved different student groups and brought a range of learning settings into the college’s programme beyond the classroom.
Visit dates: 9–10 September 2026.
On 9 September, around 20 students spent approximately four to six hours at Coforge Public Library in Hyderabad. It was the college’s second visit to the library within roughly four to five months, giving time in a reading environment a recurring place in its educational visits.
The length of the visit made it more than a brief stop. Several hours in a library create space to settle into reading, explore interests and encounter material beyond prescribed textbooks. Coforge’s Hyderabad library provides a public collection spanning fiction, science, arts, biographies and other subjects, making it a setting for different reading interests.
On 10 September, around 80 students visited the Times of India printing press, a Parle biscuit factory and a Central Jail in Hyderabad. The itinerary brought together three very different kinds of institution within one day.
A printing press offers a way to connect a familiar newspaper with the production process behind it. A biscuit factory places an everyday product within the larger setting of manufacturing, organisation and distribution. Visiting such workplaces creates opportunities to consider how processes and people work together to produce something used by many others.
The Central Jail visit added a public-institution perspective to the programme. For the college, including this setting brings questions of social responsibility, institutions and human dignity into the scope of educational exposure. It places a responsibility on visitors to observe respectfully and approach people and unfamiliar circumstances with sensitivity.
The two days reflect SAJC’s belief that education includes time to read and opportunities to encounter the working world. Libraries, factories, a newspaper press and public institutions each invite a different kind of attention. Taken together, they give students further settings in which to connect their subjects, interests and questions with life beyond college.
These visits sit alongside SAJC’s workshops, heritage walks, student-led activities and volunteering. The college’s aim is to make observation, curiosity and responsible participation a continuing part of student development alongside academic preparation.
